We’re big fans of Word World so I was excited to see the latest holiday release of this fun animated children’s show that makes spelling fun.
Happy Holidays Word Friends! is available at Toys R Us, Amazon (for just $6.99), Barnes and Noble, or at NCircleEntertainment.com. This is a 33-minute DVD for kids ages 3 to 5, although my 7-year-old will sit and watch it with her 4-year-old sister. I love that the Word World DVDs are not too lengthy (perfect for popping in while getting dinner ready) and I love that they are educational. They really captivate the attention of my preschooler. Here in Nashville Word World is available on our local PBS station weekday mornings at 10:30.
There are three shows included on this DVD. Here’s a synopsis of one of the shows:
The Christmas Star: It’s the night before Christmas and FROG needs a star to hang on his Christmas tree. DUCK thinks this will be the perfect present for FROG, and tries to lasso one out of the sky for him. Try as he might, DUCK is unable to catch a star for FROG, and cries himself to sleep. But while he sleeps, someone leaves him a wonderful present: the letters S-T-A-R.
Happy Holidays Word Friends! would make a great addition to your preschooler’s DVD collection!
