My 7-year-old has already been a big fan of Webkinz plush toys and Webkinz.com for quite some time but when Santa brought she and her little sister an adorable soft monkey and puppy from the new Webkinz Jr. line they were both thrilled! These were a huge hit for my little girls. They are beautiful pastel colors and are larger (and more cuddly and definitely softer in my opinion) than the regular Webkinz. Although the Webkinz Jr. website is ideally designed for children ages 3 to 6, both my girls, including my older daughter, enjoyed playing online on this new virtual site.
How are Webkinz Jr. Pets similar or different to regular Webkinz pets?
- Webkinz Jr. is designed for children ages 3-6, a younger age range
- Webkinz are 8 inches to 8 1/2 inches, whereas the new Webkinz Jr. plush toys are 12 inches
- Webkinz Jr. pets have 4 meters: happiness (a smiley face), health (a heart), hunger (a bowl and spoon), and energy (a moon)
- Rather than building a house for their pets, players will automatically receive a house with six rooms: a play room, a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom, a front yard, and a back yard.
- The world of Webkinz Jr. is not as large as Webkinz World, but players will be able to visit a park, a post office, a shop, a playhouse, and a school. My 7-year-old told me the website was much easier to understand and navigate.

I would select the grey elephant. This is because when I was a little girl my favorite stuffed animal was a steiff elephant. He was very loved, and I still have him 34 years later. I would love for my little one to have his own favorite elephant also.
