I’m especially partial to products developed by other moms. Christy Cook, the founder of Teach My Toddler, developed the learning system after she became frustrated when searching for a comprehensive educational system for her son to master his ABCs, numbers, shapes, and colors. She couldn’t find a comparable system on the market, so she decided to develop her own.
Designed for children ages 1 to 3, the toddler tote is portable and easy to store. It doesn’t take up much space and looks similar to an expandable file system. It is the first all-in-one learning system for toddlers and includes four sections, one for teach of the basic skills. Each section includes a coordinated puzzle, board book, flash cards, and colorful teaching chart.

I found Teach My Toddler to be a great distraction for my 3-year-old daughter on school afternoons. As her big sister did her school work (I was amazed at the amount of actual “homework” sent home for kindergarten…Good Lord), she was excited to have her own “homework” to do. My girls also play school with the set. In just 20 minutes a day, Cook says her Teach My Toddler system will help children master their essential learning skills. It also encourages one-on-one sit down on the floor interaction between children and their caregiver, be it mom, dad, a grandparent, or a babysitter.
Teach My Toddler is available at www.teach-my.com and retails for $39.99. Watch an online demo here.
