Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! I’ve posted the second of four Four For The Fourth giveaways at my other site, BlondeMomBlog. Ultreo.com and TinyTagDesigns giveaways will be posted tomorrow.

Last night hubby took the girls to Red Robin for the first time. I had plans and then met them just in time to share a hot fudge sundae. They loved it and kept stalking the “Red Rooster.” Ha! I was impressed with their kids menu. Miss A actually chose fresh cantaloupe to go with her pepperoni pizza. I remember when some restaurants offered free kids’ meals, but it seems like most chains, like O’Charley’s, have done away with them.

So what are your plans for the day? We may go to a community celebration and we’re going to grill out at home (although right now it looks like it may rain) and just relax.

We love Red Robin! Both of my boys choose it for their birthday dinner, and it was my choice for my birthday dinner when I turned 40! I love the Whiskey River BBQ burger and especially the onion straws, YUM.

We hung out at home today, my parents were going to come over but my stepmom’s brother passed away yesterday and they had to go be with her Mom (who is 93, bless her heart). So we just grilled burgers and roasted marshmallows over the coals for s’mores, then Chris took Ryan over to the neighboring township for fireworks. It was a nice, laid back day!

We had rain but luckily a breezeway still allows one to barbeque and picnic so that we did!
Our parade and fireworks aren’t until today; small town, USA. Everybody’s off on Saturday.

Elizabeth:

Sounds like a great day (except for your stepmom’s brother’s passing). I’d never been to Red Robin. My year-old daughter told us she wants to eat there for her birthday dinner next year. ;)

Mannequin: Hope it doesn’t rain on your parade!

We had a great time at the community festival in a neighboring county (we live in Nashville). They had a little petting zoo with Alpacas, goats, chickens, and a pot-bellied pig. They also had some of those fun inflatable slide/jump zone things. It did end up raining, but not until after 10 last night. We really needed it!

Great site too! We hung out at home, Brian cleaned up the garage!! I’m not sure what came over him to clean. We grilled out and ended up at Granny’s for the fireworks. Our new preacher and his family went with us. The kids all had a blast running around in her back field chasing lightening bugs and each other. A good time was had by all.

I love their milkshakes. And who can argue with bottomless fries?

I am so excited by your giveaways that I’m signing up for all four of them! *grin*

my family ran around like chickens with our heads cut off this fourth, running all voer town to pick up things for family cookouts, going to said cookouts, and being harrangued by people we’d never met at those cookouts. Kind of annoying, but what family gathering isn’t?

I’m just glad there aren’t too many of these traditional family holidays where it’s mandatory to go visit family as a large group in a year, or I’d go simply nuts!
