As a general rule I carry around breath mints like Altoids and sugar-free gum in my purse just in case I get caught out with the dreaded dragon breath (oh noes!)
I had the chance to try out a new, unique mouthwash that is 100 percent alcohol free and uses zinc ion technology to prevent germs from producing bad breath for 12 hours after each rinse. Sounds fancy, works great!
Here are some facts about SmartMouth (great name…props to the marketing team who came up with that one) Mouthwash:
- Clinically proven to elmininate bad breath for 12 hours after each rinse
- 100 percent alcohol free
- Safe for adults and kids ages 6 and older
- Comes in fresh mint and cinnamon flavors (I tried fresh mint and liked it.)
- Rinse in the morning for fresh breath all day long or rinse at night before bedtime…no morning breath!
I really liked SmartMouth. It’s basically a kit with two 8-ounce pump bottles so it does take up a little bit of counter space. You pump four times from each bottle into a small rinse cup and then swish and gargle for 30 seconds. if you have very small children (under age 6) who are curious, you need to keep it away from them, so that’s something to be mindful of.
SmartMouth doesn’t have that “minty fresh” typical mouthwash flavor that I’m used to. You can definitely tell its made with zinc, so that takes a little getting used to. It’s pretty unique, too, in that it doesn’t kill germs, like traditional alcohol-based mouthwash products. If you’re worried about being caught out with bad breath, then it’s definitely worth trying. Plus it’s on sale right now on CVS’s website for less than $6! You can also find it at most drugstores nationwide, from Target to Walgreens to Rite-Aid.
The final verdict: would I buy SmartMouth in the future? Yes, but only if it’s on sale.
