Today is National Play-Doh Day and I don’t know about you, but Play-Doh is one of those perennial childhood favorites that I fondly recall from my own childhood. There’s nothing quite like the scent and the texture of Play-Doh. Santa brought the Play-Doh Activity Center last year for Christmas and it’s been one of their favorite go-to toys on rainy days.
Play-Doh has a fun contest going on right now called Ready, Go, Play-Doh. Parents and kids can work together to create a fun, imaginative Play-Doh winning recipe. The grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 playroom makeover as well as a $5,000 “Doh-nation” to their child’s school.
Contest entries will be accepted through September 30 at which point 10 finalists will be chosen. On October 15, 2009 the finalists will be posted on ReadyGoPlayDoh.com and the public will vote on who receives the $10,000 prize!
The Ready Go Play-Doh website will also host daily giveaways with prizes, a gallery of creative contest entries, and offer downloadable recipes for fun, original Play-Doh snacks, like cute cupcakes made from Play-Doh.
Hasbro sent us one of their newest Play-Doh sets to try out–an adorable Play-Doh Burger Builder, which retails for less than $16 and would make a fun birthday or Christmas present for your Play-Doh fan. My girls have had a blast playing restaurant with their kit.
