Last weekend Savvy Dad and I took our girls to a friend’s pool. Study results published in Pediatrics, the official journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, concluded that parents who want to reduce their infants’ exposure to phthalates–man-made chemicals used during the manufacturing process of lubricants, cosmetics and plastic products including children’s toys — should limit use of infant lotions and powders. Phthalates have been linked to reproductive problems. Read an AP article on MSNBC about the study.
