About Savvy Housewife

Today’s housewife may never wear a starched apron or bake a cake from scratch, but she is a marketer’s dream. Women make more than 75 percent of decisions related to household purchases. (See this July 2 New York Times article about G23, a new consultancy launched by the Omnicon Group to help marketers reach women.)

I’m a 39-year-old working mother to two little girls under the age of 7. My husband is a busy small business owner. We don’t have time, or money, to waste when it comes to buying anything…from detergent to digital cameras to dog food.

As Consumer In Chief at my household, I’ll give you my opinion about products and services I am sent for review. Savvy Housewife will also feature giveaways every Monday.

A writer and editor with more than 16 years of experience in PR and corporate communications, I’ve been chronicling the more humorous moments in parenting at BlondeMomBlog since 2005. BlondeMomBlog is in the top 10 Google search results for “mommy blog,” “working mom blog,” and “soccer mom blog.” I’m a featured parenting partner at DivineCaroline and part of their Real Girls Media beta ad network. I also write occasionally at BlissfullyDomestic and Deep South Moms. I was one of more than 50 mommy bloggers invited by Johnson & Johnson to their inaugural Camp Baby event in April 2008. I was quoted in this Star-Ledger article by reporter Jeff May, J&J Sees Potential In Blogger Power.

E-mail me at savvyhousewife @ yahoo dot com if you have a PR pitch or request or want ad rates for advertising on either of my blogs.
